TMI (too much information)

Sometimes I find that I am a victim of handing out TMI to people. Nick points it out to me on occasion that sometimes people don't want to hear about my lovely bouts with IBS. I personally have no problem discussing this lovely and exciting topic. I think people should be more comfortable with talking about it because until they do I'm going to continue to find it amusing when they become awkward. Not to mention an estimated 35 million Americans have what my friend Amy fondly refers to as "the mud butt".

So on the topic of TMI, Nick is currently looking for someone to sublease his apartment. He received a phone call from someone interested in taking over his place in March. The odd thing about it was that she needed a ride to come take the tour. Nick didn't really think too much of it because he just wants to find someone quick. When they show up to do the walk through I recognize her from somewhere (i didn't put two and two together until later). She's older, is missing quite a few teeth, and is carrying around a plastic cup filled with what looks like a mixed drink (I could be wrong but when she fell and also almost dropped her cup I was skeptical). She became very defensive when Nick told her that he had other people that were interested in the place too.

Apparently the conversation about her wanting the apartment continued in the car ride back to her house. She began to explain why she needed the apartment. She explained how she is a schizophrenic who has a total of 15 years of sobriety under her belt when you add up all the times she has been sober (technically I thought you were only supposed to count consecutive years, months, etc.). She then went on to talk about how she is a member of NA (narcotics anonymous) and loves loves loves church. All of this in the span of a 5 minute long car ride.

When Nick returned he told me what she had said and then I recalled how I knew her. She used to come into Bambino's and would drink up at the bar. I remember on one occasion we had to refuse to give her any more to drink because she was becoming irritable and had begun to talk to someone that didn't actually exist. Once she left she stood out by the fence and was yelling obscenities at her imaginary friend. That wouldn't have been too much of a problem had it not been in the summer time which means that everyone on the patio heard her screaming.

Needless to say I don't think Nick will be subletting his apartment out to her. His apartment situation is set up to where it has split utilities with the other half of the house. It's basically like having roommates that you don't see very often. He has had other people checking out the place so we're hoping to move into our new huge apartment together by March.
